Figs 5 View FIGURES 4 – 6 a, 5b, 22, 28

Material examined: Holotype male: New South Wales: Tubrabucca , Barrington Tops, 15.xi.1953, A. Neboiss, NMV.

Paratypes: New South Wales: Same data as for holotype, 24 males 9 females, NMV; Barrington River nr Barrington, 23.x.1984, A. Neboiss, 1 male 3 females (1 female genitalic prep Ag 018), NMV; Williams River, Rocky Crossing, 32°07’S 151°29’E, 29.xi.2007, A. Glaister, J. Dean & R. St Clair, 1 male 2 females, ANIC.

Diagnosis. The male of this species resembles that of A. paracralus sp. nov. in having 2 close-set mesally directed spurs subapically on each gonopod, but is distinguished from that species by having those spurs both positioned at about the same distance from the apex of its gonopod (whereas in A. paracralus the 2nd is distinctly further from the apex), by having the gonopods tapered and triangulate, and by having the cerci more elongate and parallel-sided. The females of A. tubrabucca are distinctive in having sternite VIII laterally projecting slightly and bearing surface ribbing or striae.

Forewing length: Male 3.4–4.5 mm, female 3.3–4.3 mm.

Male genitalia: Sternum VI mesal process smoothly curved. Segment IX angulate, posterior margin slightly convex. Segment X membranous distally, sclerotised proximally, truncate apically, almost as long as gonopods. Cerci parallel-sided, rounded to truncate apically. Gonopods elongate almond-shaped, 2 small mesally directed spurs subapically. Phallic apparatus in lateral view nearly 3X length of segment X, paired striated parameres adpressed dorsally, and 2 elongate club-shaped processes ventrally, their surfaces sculpted with small teeth.

Female: Abdominal sternite VI bearing short mesal process; segment VIII divided ventrally, with lateral ridge separating striated or ribbed ventral ‘plate’ on each side ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 21 – 23 ).

Etymology: Named for the type locality.

Distribution: Known only from the Barrington Tops area, northeastern New South Wales.
