Distribution. The species is distributed in Central Europe (mainly in the Alps) and known from France, Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Italy, and Slovenia.

Remarks. Geodromicus suturalis Lacordaire, 1835 was originally described from “Paris”. For a long time it was considered as a synonym of G. plagiatus (e.g. Erichson 1840, Kraatz 1857, Mulsant & Rey 1880) or as a variety of it (e.g. Fauvel 1871 [= 1872]).
