Remarks. The species was described from the southwestern region of Republic of South Africa (Cape Province) ( Hackel & Farkač 2013). During a visit to MRAC, in 1992, we had an opportunity to check a female specimen of this species which was collected in the Kruger National Park ( RSA, north-eastern provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga) (see studied material). Now, the study of male specimens allows providing the diagnosis of the genitalia. Macrocheilus dorsalis is recorded for Tanzania and Zambia for the first time.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 7a View FIGURE 7 ). Median lobe straight, slightly constricted between basal bulb and shaft, apex roundacuminated and slightly downward (lateral view), apical margin rounded and acuminated (dorsal view), apical ostium with one pair of scaled sclerotized stripes on dorsum which extends backward, endophallus without large curled inward sclerotized plates; left paramere large and rounded, without any distal tooth. See also remarks under the median lobe of M. kudrnai n. sp.
Distribution. Republic of South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia.
