Mémoires de l’Institut scientifique de Madagascar, sér. B, 4: 140 (1952). — Lectotype (here designated): Perrier 16551 ( P! [ P00573552 ]; iso-, P! [ P00573551 , P00573553 ], TEF!).
Perrier 16551 is here chosen as the lectotype of Diospyros implexicalyx H.Perrier instead of the other syntype (Perrier 17349) because it possesses female flowers at anthesis and is represented by a duplicate at TEF .
