Strepsylla villai Traub and Barrera, 1955 View in CoL
Material examined— Hidalgo: Tenango de Doria, host unknown, 1 female.
Remarks—Barrera (1968) suggested that species of Strepsylla Traub are nest fleas. This may explain why the species has been documented in only three states (Distrito Federal, Puebla, and Tlaxcala). These fleas are infrequently found on the host and have seldom been collected from nests in Mexico.
