Prodorsal shield 48 (47–50), 60 (58–61) wide; median, admedian and submedian lines present and forming a network. Scapular setae (sc) and dorsal tubercles absent, internal vertical seta (vi) 8 (8–9), projecting forward. Coxae: coxal plates with short undulated lines; anterolateral setae on coxisternum I (1b) 12 (11–13), proximal setae on coxisternum I (1a) 18 (16–20), proximal setae on coxisternum II (2a) 30 (28–32). Sternal line present. Legs with usual series of setae. Legs I 35 (32–37), femur 13 (12–13), basiventral femoral setae (bv) 10 (9–12); genu 5 (5–6), antaxial genual setae (l’’) 24 (22–25); tibia 7 (7–8), paraxial tibial setae (l’) 7 (6–7), setae located 2/3 from dorsal base; tarsus 7 (6–7); tarsal empodium simple, 8rayed, tarsal solenidion tapered. Legs II 32 (30–34), femur 12 (11–12), basiventral femoral setae (bv) 10 (9–11); genu 5 (4–5), antaxial genual setae (l’’) 7 (7–8); tibia 6 (6–7); tarsus 7 (6–7); tarsal empodium simple, 8rayed, tarsal solenidion tapered. Opisthosoma: dorsal opisthosoma with three ridges and with 45 (44–48) annuli, with round microtubercles on rear annular margins, ventrally with 75 (73–77) annuli, with round microtubercles. Setae c1 7 (6–7) on dorsal annulus 7; setae c2 25 (23–27) on ventral annulus 12; setae d 20 (19–20) on ventral annulus 24; setae e 15 (13–16) on ventral annulus 37; setae f 40 (35–42) on 5th ventral annulus from rear. Setae h1 6 (5–6). Female genitalia 12 (12–13), 23 (22–23) wide, coverflap smooth, proximal setae on coxisternum III (3a) 18 (17–20).
MALE: (n = 3) 210 (205–213), 58 (57–58) wide; genitalia 5 (5–6), 22 (21–22) wide, proximal setae on coxisternum III (3a) 15 (14–17).
Type data
Holotype, female, from Abies fabri (Mast.) Craib (Pinaceae) , Longyuwan (33°42.53’N, 111°45.62’E), Luanchuan County, Henan Province, P. R. China, 21 July 2004, coll. X.F. Xue. Paratypes, 12 females and 3 males, with the same data as holotype.
Relation to host
Vagrant on leaf surface. No damage to the host was observed.
Etymology
Derived from the specific epithet of the type host plant, fabri .
Remarks
This species is similar to Boczekella laricis Farkas, 1965 ( Farkas, 1965) , but can be differentiated by prodorsal shield design forming a more complicated network than that in B. laricis , paraxial tibial setae (l’) present (paraxial tibial setae (l’) absent in B. laricis ) and dorsal annuli with dot microtubercles (dorsal annuli smooth in B. laricis ).
Distribution
China (Henan).
