Diagnosis. Male: Presence of a ventral apophysis shared only with H. triangulare , from which differs by morphology of medial process. Cercus in lateral view: dorsobasal expansion present. Ventrobasal apophysis present, almost straight (Fig. 17B). Cercus in mediodorsal view: basal and apical portions very small and subequal, medial portion longest. Ventral expansion not present, ventrobasal apophysis present. Medial process triangular plate with truncated apex, one sclerotized ridge crossing middle of process. Apical portion with spoonlike depression on dorsal surface (Fig. 17A). Female: Lateral projections of posterior lobe of prothorax smaller than in H. triangulare , most of lobe taken up by rounded and projected central area, pale brown (Fig. 46D); valves of ovipositor not reaching distal S10 and ventral margin with long spines; female cercus longer than S10, with small tuft of bristles at tip ( Fig. 48G View FIGURE 48 ). Basal plate: dorsal edge an inverted S-shape, longer than concave outer edge. Ventral side same length as outer edge ( Fig. 48H View FIGURE 48 ).
