Hishimonus sonapaharensis Ramachandra Rao View in CoL

Figs 177–182 View FIGURES 177 – 191 .

Hishimonus sonapharensis Ramachandra Rao 1988: 67 –68, figs 41–45.

Head, pronotum, scutum and scutellum creamy white with brown mottling, crown with transverse brown fascia on anterior submargin. Forewing silvery white with brown mottling, medial spot not prominent.

Male genitalia. Pygofer in lateral view longer than its height, posterior margin broadly rounded, macrosetae confined to posterior half. Valve triangular with conically rounded posterior margin, 1.8 times as broad at base as long medially. Subgenital plate with well defined posterior fingerlike process 0.30 times total length, lateral margin less strongly convex. Style twice as long as broad at base, with slender, slightly laterally curved apophysis, subapical lobe well defined. Connective with stem 1.5 times length of arms. Aedeagus without basal processes; dorsal apodeme well developed; each shaft divergent from base in posterior view, broadened distally and apices tightly curved inwardly; in lateral view shafts appearing lamellate and curved anteriorly, apices rounded; gonopore almost at midlength of each shaft.

Material examined. HOLOTYPE ♂, INDIA: Meghalay: Shillong: Sonapahar, 29.ii.1977, K.R.Rao Coll. ( ZSIC).

Remarks. H. sonaparensis resembles H. mayarami in the structure of male genitalia, but differs in having strongly inwardly curved apices of aedeagal shafts and a slender apex of the apophysis of the style.
