Holotype male seen, left wing damaged in the upper part. One male paratype from Uganda was dissected and illustrated.
Male terminalia. Sternite 5 more or less trapezoidal and with scattered setae ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 17 – 32 ); cercal plate higher than wide and surstylus sinuous, as long as cercal plate ( Figs 26, 27 View FIGURES 17 – 32 ); cercal plate and surstylus are typical of the genus Spilogona and resemble those of many Holarctic species; aedeagal complex as in Fig. 28 View FIGURES 17 – 32 ; hypandrium tubular, which is a typical feature of the tribe Coenosiini but which is also found in a few species of Spilogona such as the Holarctic S. contractifrons (Zetterstedt) .
