Remarks. This species was described based on a single specimen from Brazil (Pará). Later, Thomson (1878) described Hemilissa laevigata based on syntypes from French Guiana. Gounelle (1909b) synonymized H. laevigata with H. cornuta . Currently, it is known from French Guiana, Colombia, Peru, Brazil (Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia, Goiás), and Bolivia (Santa Cruz) ( Bezark 2023b; Monné 2023a; Tavakilian & Chevillotte 2023).
