Holotype: — ETHIOPIA. Shashamane : road to Ababa, ca. 1550 m, November 1971, G.T.de Joncheere ETS 50 ( FI003264 [digital image!]).
Specimens seen:— Western Province: Nyungwe NP, Monti a sud-est del Lago Kivu a km 45 da Bukavo lungo la strada per Astrida. Epifita a m. 1.50 da suolo nella foresta umida tagliata dalla strada, ca. 2300 m, 15 August 1956, R.E.G.Pichi Sermolli 5328 ( FI067886 [digital image!]) .
First recorded for Rwanda: — Pichi Sermolli (1985: 152).
Habitat: —Epiphyte in montane forest, elev. 2300–2600 m.
Distribution in Rwanda:—Western Province: Nyungwe NP.
General distribution: —Africa: D.R. Congo, Ethiopia, Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Malawi, Madagascar. Also in Réunion.
