Type material examined. Holotype labelled: ‘Fang Chiang Mai Thailand, 25. VII. I994 leg. Native // Coll. Masumoto 2001 // Holotype Morphostenophanes elegantulus MAS. & BEČ’ (male, NSMT, Fig. 34G View FIGURE 34 ), examined through two photograph provided by Kimio Masumoto .
Comparative notes. Morphostenophanes elegantulus can be distinguished from other congeners of elegantulus -group by the major part of its elytra and legs colored dark red brown and strongly shortened female elytra.
