Type species — Paranisopodus heterotarsus Monné & Martins, 1976 View in CoL (original designation).
Diagnosis. Body dorsoventrally depressed; prothorax with lateral tubercle postmedian, with apex acute; elytra with centrobasal crest; humeri projected anteriorly; hind legs elongated; mesofemora pedunculate, with apex surpassing elytral apex in males, shorter in females. Number of species currently included: 10.
