Boraginaceae , in Engler A., Die Pflanzenwelt Ost- Africas und der Nachbargebiete C: 336, Berlin. — Lectotype (here designated): Holst 2409, Tanzania, Nyika ( B; iso-, K!).
Hilsenbergia teitensis is morphologically similar to both H. lyciacea and H. orbicularis and it dif- fers from both in having a completely undivided style with two stigmas opposite one another on the apex. It differs further from H. lyciacea in having glandular hairs on the leaves and generally more flowers in its inflorescence.
DISTRIBUTION. — Hilsenbergia teitensis occurs in northeastern Tanzania, eastern Kenya, and southern Somalia ( THULIN 1987; VERDCOURT 1991).
