Boomerangia dimidiata (L. Koch) View in CoL . Szymkowiak 2014: 395, f. 38A–E, 39A–E.
Etymology. The generic epithet is formed from the word boomerang, used in the original (preoccupied) nomen, and the Latin suffix -iana. The gender is feminine.
Remarks. Koch (1867) described Xysticus dimidiatus L. Koch, 1867 based on a single female. Eight years later, Koch (1875) provided another description of the specimen and transferred X. dimidiatus to the genus Diaea Thorell, 1869 . Soon after, Koch (1876) described Diaea velata L. Koch, 1876 based also on a single female. Diaea dimidiata and D. velata were not subsequently treated again for over one century until the revision of Australian species of Diaea by Szymkowiak (2014). In that work, Szymkowiak (2014) described the genus Boomerangia Szymkowiak, 2014 to house D. dimidiata and also determined D. velata to be a junior synonym of this species. During ongoing work on the historical nomenclature of spiders, the author DS noticed that Boomerangia Szymkowiak, 2014 was a junior homonym of the nematode genus Boomerangia Siddiqi, 1994 . Siddiqi (1994) described this genus to house two species of Cameroonian nematode found sympatrically in soil, namely: Boomerangia benigna Siddiqi, 1994 (the generotype) and Boomerangia bellula Siddiqi, 1994 . As Boomerangia Siddiqi, 1994 has seniority over Boomerangia Szymkowiak, 2014 the latter name must be replaced. We hereby establish the replacement name Boomerangiana nom. nov. for the preoccupied nomen Boomerangia Szymkowiak, 2014 . Consequently, a new combination is thereby established for its generotype: Boomerangiana dimidiata comb. nov.
