Key to species of Camptocerus Dejean View in CoL
Several Camptocerus species are known from individuals of a single sex. Couplet 1 separates the sexes. Note that males are unknown for Camptocerus annectens and C. major ; females are unknown for C. petrovi , C. satyrus and C. unicornus . Due to morphological conservation of females within clades, there is a paucity of reliable diagnostic characters.
As a result, the female couplets often rely on size
ranges and geographical distributions (ex. high-
land vs. lowland forest) to diagnose species.
