Antonia gabalensis El-Hawagry, 2009: 3 . [ syn. nov.]. Type locality: Egypt. Holotype in EFC). Antonia gabelensis: Evenhuis & Greathead (2015: 291) , misspelling of gabalensis El-Hawagry.

Distribution. PALAEARCTIC: Egypt, Israel, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.

Egyptian localities. Sinai: Wadi El-Lega, Wadi El-Shallalah (near Rabbah), Wadi Garagniya.

Dates of collection: June to September.

Diagnosis. Vertex entirely black; occiput black, gray dusted; face pale yellow except for a large black spot on the center of the concavity at its upper part between it and bulging part of frons; narrow upper third of frons with a blackish coloration extending downwards forming a longitudinal stripe on the center of the bulging boss-like lower part of frons; facial cone more or less extensively dark brown at tip; scape bare above, with few white hairs beneath; scape and pedicel pale yellow; flagellum black, brownish apically, pyriform, about as long as scape and pedicel together, bare; scutum black; scutellum pale yellow with a narrow black band bordering its base, in addition to a conspicuous and obvious black coloration at angles; cell r5 widely open at margin; abdomen narrow; tergites entirely black with posterior margins whitish gray covered with pure white vestiture, giving a characteristic narrow banded appearance; gonostyli long and narrow, with hook-like recurved apex; aedeagal sheath wide, flattened, becoming wider apically, with a broadly rounded apex.

Material examined. Holotype of Antonia gabalensis : Male, W. El-Shallalah (near Rabbah, South Sinai) , 30.6.1943 (Efflatoun) ( EFC). Paratypes of Antonia gabalensis : 2 males and 1 female, same data as holotype ( EFC); 2 females, W. El-Lega (South Sinai), 6–9.1941 (Efflatoun) ( EFC); 1 male, Wadi Garagniya, 6-8.1942 (Efflatoun) ( ESEC). Homeotypes of Antonia fedtschenkoi : 2 males, Wadi Garagniya, 6-8. 1942 (Efflatoun) ( ESEC).
