ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1875a: 262 (key), 266 (description).

TYPE LOCALITY: “ In agro parmensi [Parmese territory ( Italy)]”.

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, lectotype ( MZUF: Box 35): Leucopis Mgn / armillata Rndn. / 1819 / Lectotypus Leucopis (Leucopis) armillata Rond. , det. G. Morge, Ex. 17 [not designated] / Lectotypus ♂ Leucopis (Leucopis) armillata Rondani, 1874 [sic!], A. Raspi det. / Leucopis (Leucopis) palumbii, Rondani, 1872 , A. Raspi det.

PARALECTOTYPE EXAMINED: 1 ♀ (missing head and left wing, dissected) ( MZUF: Box 35): Leucopis Mgn / armillata Rndn. / 1819 / Paralectotypus ♀ Leucopis (Leucopis) armillata Rondani, 1874 [sic!], A. Raspi det. / Leucopis (Leucopis) palumbii, Rondani, 1872 , A. Raspi det.

CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Tanasijtshuk 1984: 225, Nartshuk et al. 1995: 7); junior synonym of Leucopis palumbii Rondani, 1872 View in CoL ( Raspi & Benelli 2016: 211).

REMARKS: Rondani (1875a: 266) described Leucopis armillata without specifying the number, the sex or the length of the specimens. Raspi & Benelli (2016: 211) designated a lectotype (♂) and paralectotype (♀).
