Piophilidae View in CoL View at ENA
This worldwide family of acalyptrate flies contains 85 predominantly Holarctic species ( Marshall 2012, Evenhuis & Pape 2020). In his “ Stirps Loncheinae ”, rather than in the family Piophilidae , proposed by Macquart (1835), Rondani (1875a) described one Palaearctic species, considered as a junior synonym ( Zuska, 1984). The type material is in the MZUF.
