ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1868c: 236 (key), 243 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in collibus agri parmensis [Parmese hills ( Italy)]”.
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype (MZUF: Box 29): Sapromyza Fall. / rectinervis Rndn. , ♂ / 1558.
CURRENT STATUS: Papp (1984a) did not list it; available name ( O’Hara et al. 2011: 213).
REMARKS: Rondani (1868c: 243) described Sapromyza rectinervis from just the male sex without specifying the exact number of specimens and not giving a range of lengths: “ Semel marem legi [I collected the male once]”. We found one syntype in this study.
