ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1868b: 36.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ Santa Fé et Cordova [Santa Fe and Cordoba ( Argentina)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, syntype (partially eaten by dermestids, legs glued to a cardboard stage pinned below specimen) ( MZUF: Box 71): Agelanius albipalpis Rnd., Am. M. [= South America] / Type A. albipalpis Rnd., C.B. Philip, 1964 / Dasybasis minor (Macquart) , det. Coscarón, 1966 / [no identification number].

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Dasybasis minor ( Macquart, 1850) View in CoL ( Fairchild 1971: 39, Coscarón & Papavero 2009: 73).

REMARKS: Rondani (1868b: 36) described Agelanius albipalpis from just the female sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens, from material received from P. Strobel. Philip (1965a: 122), Coscarón & Philip (1967: 122) and Fairchild (1971: 39) reported a single type (♀) in the MZUF. We also found one syntype in this study.
