Tettigidea paralecta species group
Diagnosis: Body robust. Facial carinae and frontal costa slightly thickened, in lateral view moderately prolonged and rounded fastigium. Spine of the anterior margin of the pronotum sharp, thin and projecting moderately over the head. Posterior margin of the pronotum reaching the apex of the abdomen. Median carina of the pronotal disc notoriously elevated and dorsally rounded, pronotal disc latero-laterally flattened. Hind wings developed or not.
Species included: T. paratecta Rehn, 1913 ; T. arcuata Bruner, 1910 , and T. skejoi Cadena-Castañeda, 2015 .
Distribution: South America: Colombian plains with interrupted distribution towards northern Argentina and southwestern Brazil ( Fig. 39 View FIGURE 39 ).
Comments: Species with a high and robust pronotum, with a discontinuous distribution in South America, possibly the distribution range of the species may be greater or non-described species may inhabit the intermediate regions between the distributions of the known species.
