3. P. cingulatus group

Species: P. anneliesae , P. cingulatus , P. complens , P. elegans sp. nov., P. ferrugineus , P. flavifemoratus , P. indicus sp. nov., P. kambangensis , P. kovaci , P. temasekianus , P. thailandicus

Characteristics: (1) Upper frons, vertex and median occipital sclerite black; (2) thorax yellowish to brown, rarely black with metallic sheen or species-specific dark pattern; (3) wing membrane uniform, without infuscation; (4) vein R2+3 sligthly shorter than Rs ( Figs 38–39 ) but radial triangle (r2+3) usually not as high as in aurifer group (about as high as crossvein R-M is long) and distinctly opened distally, crossvein M-Cu short but distinct; (5) M3 sinuate, postcubitus (CuP) well developed, pigmented; (6) male terminalia of plesiotypic type, epandrium and genital capsule longer than broad, relatively low medial process at distal margin of genital capsule distinct only in some species, gonostyli often rounded or lobate on inner side, aedeagal complex simply tube-like, gonocoxal apodemes sligthly extending anterior of proximal margin of genital capsule.

Remarks. The scutum is generally yellowish brown, the darkened longitudinal bands along thenotopleuron and a midline are developed only in P. kambangensis . The epandrium is almost round and the abdomen somewhat spatulate in P. flavifemoratus while usually spindle-shaped in the other species. P. elegans sp. nov. based on the female holotype is preliminary included here although its scutum of it is dark with a metallic sheen. The females of P. thailandicus possess an unusually short distal segment of the cercus.
