Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin adjective subtilis , - is, - e, meaning “fine, thin, delicate”, referring to the thin and delicate tip of E; adjective.

Diagnosis. The male of P. subtilis Zhang, Jäger & Liu , spec. nov. resembles that of P. jiangi spec. nov. in having E long, filiform, forming one loop, almost S-shaped at distal part. The new species can be distinguished by: 1) Basal embolic outgrowth strongly developed, kidneyshaped; 2) RTA with a rectangular and a finger-like distal part in ventral view (E basal part broad, both dRTA and vRTA with tapering tips in P. jiangi spec. nov.).

MALE ( IOZ 0004): Measurements: Small sized. Body length 8.3, DS length 4.0, width 3.6, OS length 4.3, width 2.7. Eyes: AME 0.15, ALE 0.24, PME 0.18, PLE 0.20, AME–AME 0.17, AME–ALE 0.10, PME–PME 0.24, PME–PLE 0.37, AME–PME 0.34, ALE–PLE 0.30, CH AME 0.39, CH ALE 0.33. Spination: Pp 131, 101, 2111; Fe I–II 323, III 322, IV 321; Pa I–IV 101; Ti I–II 2226, III– IV 2126; Mt I–III 2024, IV 3036. Measurements of palps and legs: Pp 6.5 (1.8, 0.8, 1.2, –, 2.7); I 19.1 (5.4, 2.1, 5.1, 4.9, 1.6); II 21.3 (5.7, 2.2, 6.3, 5.3, 1.8); III 17.0 (5.3, 1.9, 4.7, 4.0, 1.4); IV 18.4 (5.5, 1.5, 4.7, 5.0, 1.7). Leg formula: II-I-IV-III. Cheliceral furrow with ca. 21 denticles.

Palp ( Figs 235A–C View FIGURE 235 ): As in diagnosis. C arising from T at 2:00 o’clock position, basally wrinkled, long, reaching almost cymbium tip. E arising from T at 11:30 o’clock position, basally broad, with long and filiform apical tip. Spermophor visible submarginally as broad tube on retrolateral T and as thin tube in the broad basal part of the E in ventral view, and on prolateral side in prolateral view.

Colouration ( Figs 236A–B View FIGURE 236 ): DS bright yellow with few dark spots along striae. Fovea dark. OS dorsally cream white with several brown dots pairwise arranged and irregular dark pattern laterally and posteriorly. OS ventrally with reddish brown marks in two rows.
