( Fig. 13 View FIGURE 13 )

Material: 08. 2000, Sulubahçe (Bozcaada Island), mud with shell fragments, 10 m, 1 spm ( ESFM-GAS /2000- 215).

Remarks: Shell strong, with paucispiral protoconch. The sculpture on the teleoconch whorls consists of thick axial ribs (9 ribs on the body whorl) and frequently located weak spiral striae. Posterior sinus deep, labial varix moderately developed. The species is characteristic with its paucispiral protoconch and fine spiral striae on the teleoconch whorls, and thick axial ribs. The specimens formerly identified as Mangelia bertrandii (Payraudeau) and Mangelia caerulans have been synonymized with Mangelia striolata , as the latter is the senior name. The species was investigated in detail by Spada & Della Bella (2010), where a neotype of the species was designated.

Distribution: Mediterranean Sea ( Spada & Della Bella 2010). Turkish coasts: Aegean Sea ( Van Aartsen & Kinzelbach 1990)
