Distribution.

Mexico, Costa Rica, Bahama Islands, Cuba, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Saba, Montserrat and Dominica ( H. spinimanus (Simon, 1891) presents a pantropical distribution).

Diagnosis.

Males are easily diagnosed from all other Oonopidae by the presence of one or two backward-pointing projections on the male palpal endites (Figs 29 View Figures 28, 29 - 33 View Figures 30–33 ). Females are easily diagnosed by their elongated, spinose pedipalpi ( Platnick and Dupérré 2009, fig. 181).
