Only one species of this genus was collected at the Serra dos Órgãos (museum specimens only). The genus has been reviewed by our group, and significant changes will be made ( Silveira et al. 2019). As currently understood, it contains both diurnal and nocturnal species. The genus can be diagnosed by the compressed and slightly serrate antenna, eyes narrower than a third of the head, reduced and acute mandibles, the presence of anterior vitreous spots on the pronotum, and transverse lanterns on abdominal sterna VI and VII, sometimes almost medially divided. Females and immature stages remain unknown.
