Tanaella paraforcifera (Lang, 1968) View in CoL
Synonymy. Leptognathia paraforcifere Lang, 1968 ; Tanaella paraforcifera Sieg, 1986 .
Distribution. Ingolf Stn 234, Madagascar-Mombasa, 5°25∞S, 47°09∞E. 4800 m.
Remarks. This species is only known from one female and one male specimen. The holotype (CRU-7711) is badly damaged since Lang (1968) used this specimen for dissection. The paratype (CRU-3699), however, is undamaged. The definining characters of this species are: cheliped dactylus without proximal process on inner margin, pereopods 4–6 propodus ventral margin naked, pereopod 6 propodus without hook-shaped serrated distal spiniform setae, and uropods as long as pleotelson. The female of this species does not have pleopods. The male has pleopods with simple setae only.
