Distribution. Tanaella tuberculata has only been recorded from the Indian Ocean. Stn Si-19, 5°37∞N, 78°28∞E, 3660 m.
Remarks. This is only known from three specimens and is unique by presenting a five-articulated antennule in the male. This is very peculiar and may be an artifact. Unfortunately specimens of T. tuberculata were not available for study and pleopods have not been described or illustrated. The female is very similar to T. prolixcauda but the female can be separated by the lack of pleopods and the male by the fivearticulated antennule. Since no female T. prolixcauda has been found, it is not possible to know what separates it from T. tuberculata .
