Etymology. In honour of Scott R. Shaw.

Type material. HOLOTYPE, „ ( UWIM): Peru: Tingo Maria , 5–12 October 1964 (620 m; C. C. Porter).

Holotype, „, length of body 3.5 mm, of fore wing 3.3 mm.

Head. Antenna with 38 segments, length of third segment 1.3 times fourth, length of third, fourth and penultimate segments 4, 3 and 1.1 times their maximal width, respectively; length of apical segment 1.8 its maximal width; eyes setose and protuberant in frontal view; length of eye in dorsal view 2.7 times temple; temple directly narrowed posteriorly, sparsely punctate, shiny; OOL: diameter of ocellus: POL~8.0:3.0:2.0; frons smooth medially, shiny; vertex flattened near stemmaticum, smooth and shiny; face shortened, weakly convex (quasi flat) in lateral view, shiny, sparsely punctate with long setae; clypeus weakly convex and smooth; gena in frontal view very short; length of malar space equal to basal width of mandible; maxillary palps reaching mid coxae, 1.6 times height of head; malar suture absent; occipital flange large, its ventral margin straight.

Mesosoma. Length of mesosoma 1.25 times its maximal height; side of pronotum smooth posteriorly near tegula, antero-medially finely crenulate and finely coriaceous ventrally; mesopleuron smooth and shiny; precoxal sulcus largely punctate and hardly reaching anterior margin of mesopleuron; metapleuron finely punctate, its ventral border with a small rounded bump; metapleural flange absent; mesoscutum sparsely punctate; scutellar sulcus medium-sized with small carinae posteriorly; notauli finely punctate; mesopleuron, scutum, metapleuron, propodeum setose; scutellum convex, shiny and setose; propodeum medially convex, smooth, shiny and sometimes coriaceous anteriorly.

Wings. Fore wing: r: SR1z3-SR~7:35; 2-SR: r-m~8:5; second submarginal cell clearly petiolate; subbasal cell setose anteriorly; vein cu-a weakly antefurcal; vein 3-CU1 twice longer than vein CU1b. Hind wing: 2-M coloured; membrane weakly setose basally.

Legs. Hind coxa finely aciculate and shiny; lengths of hind femur, tibia and basitarsus 5.7, 10.6 and 13.5 times their widths, respectively; legs setose; tibial spurs 0.26 and 0.4 times basitarsus; hind tibia without apical teeth; presence of bristles on outer side of femurs.

Metasoma. First tergite 4.1 times longer than apically wide, finely coriaceous, weakly concave medially in lateral view; spiracles weakly protruding; second tergite shiny, medially finely punctate, smooth elsewhere; T2 1.2 times longer than T3; second tergite 1.7 its maximal width; second suture smooth and curved.

Colour. Yellowish. Outer stripe on scapus, antennal segments, trochantellus, apex of hind tibia, hind spurs, hind tarsi dark brownish; hind femur basally, apex of third tergite and following brownish; fore wing weakly infuscate, veins darkish.

Remarks. This species is closely related to S. rufithorax , but it may be distinguished by its longer T1 and by the coloration of the mesosoma and mid coxa.
