Material examined. AM P100915 , 1 juvenile male (TL 20 mm), Old Settlement Beach, 31.51969°S, 159.05719°E, 0.5 m, seagrass (? Zostera ) GoogleMaps , LHI 2017Mar28 _052, coll. A. Reid & S. Keable, 28 March 2017.

Remarks. Pseudosquilla ciliata was first confirmed from Lord Howe Island by Stephenson (1962) based on a specimen collected by the Herald Expedition. The present specimen represents the second record of the species from Lord Howe Island.

Distribution. Widely distributed throughout the tropical Indo-West Pacific, eastern and western Atlantic. In the oceanic Tasman Sea, P. ciliata is known as far south as Lord Howe Island, and as far south as Sydney in mainland Australia; intertidal to 86 m ( Ahyong 2001).
