Allopyge antigones Johnston, 1913 View in CoL — Type species

Type host. Sarus crane, Grus antigone (Linnaeus) ( Gruiformes : Gruidae ). Given as Antigone australasiana Linnaeus in the original description; however, the “Australian crane” is considered to be a subspecies of G. antigone (= Grus antigone gilliae [Schodde]).

Type locality. Australia; specific type locality unknown.

Remarks. This species was considered to be Cyclocoelum (Hyptiasmus) antigones ( Johnston, 1913) by Dubois (1959). The genital pore is uncharacteristically positioned below the intestinal bifurcation as originally described by Johnston (1913). Rudimentary oral sucker present, but no measurement was given in the original description—Johnston (1913) and Bashkirova (1950).
