Cnemidophyllum (Cnemidophyllum) tani n. sp.

Holotype. ♂. Colombia, Amazonas, PNN Amacayacu , ~ 170 m. 3°20'29.44"S, 70°12'24.69"W. 12 Dec. 2012, J. Márquez. ( CAUD). GoogleMaps
Paratypes. Colombia, 8 males, same locality as for holotype ( CAUD).
Description. Male (holotype). Size of body and colouration typical of this subgenus but with the following differences: apex of the fore and middle femora and base of the fore and middle tibia not pigmented, subapical red ring of the hind femur absent. Body green with a red line on left edge of stridulatory area, M vein without red coloration. Post-ocular line red, connected with lateral carinae of pronotal disc and lateral edge of stridulatory area (fig. 12). Fastigium of the vertex moderately curved, pronotal carinae moderately elevated dorsally into 5 or 6 rounded, slightly subdivided and irregular tubercles (fig. 13), lateral pronotal lobes higher than wide. Tympana of fore tibia covered on both side 85–90%, middle and hind tibiae not expanded. Tegmina twice long as the body, stridulatory file 4.5 mm long with 140 apparently functional teeth (figs. 14–16). Tenth tergite produced posteriorly and distally rounded (fig. 17). Cerci incurved and armed with a sclerotized and blunt spine at the tip. Subgenital plate with V-shaped notch; styli finger shaped and two times as long as notch is deep ( Figs. 18–19 View FIGURES 12 – 19 ).
Female. Unknown.
Measurements (mm). BL: 80–84; Pr: 9–11; Teg: 65–69; HF: 38–41; HT: 39–43; SP: 4–5.
Comments. This species is rather peculiar compared to other species of the subgenus, lacking most of the chromatic characteristics, such as pigmentation of the fore and middle legs, without subapical ring on hind tibiae, or the red line of Sc + R1 on tegmina. Additionally, the middle and hind tibiae are not dilated, so it is not closely related to any of the described species in the group.
Etymology. Dedicated to my friend and colleague Ming Kai Tan, in recognition of his valuable contribution in the study of Orthoptera of the Malay Peninsula.
