Remarks: The majority of the above records are based on that of Marshall (1964, 1967). But there is a remark by Christiansen & Bellinger (1980, p. 660) that “specimens from Quebec recorded by Marshall (1967) as sensibilis are all immature, with 1+1 or 2+2 manubrial setae. They may actually belong to F. alpha ” (now coeruleogrisea ). The same is probably true for Alaskan records. The existence of this “European boreomountainous species” ( Potapov 2001, p. 226) in the Nearctic needs further confirmation, although its presence in the Atlantic provinces of Canada is plausible.
General distribution: Eastern Nearctic and Western Palaearctic.
