P. affiniformis ( Stach, 1930)
– Xenylla affiniformis Stach, 1930: 280
BC Battigelli & Marshall 1993; Skidmore 1995; Cannings 2010
Remarks: This species was absent in Christiansen & Bellinger (1980) but included in the second edition (1998). X. affiniformis was recorded from early stage Douglas fir forests on an inland lake shore on Vancouver Island ( Battigelli & Marshall 1993), although it is thought to be an obligate maritime form. The date of this species description is given above in accordance with www. collembola .org, although volume 26 of Annales Musei nationalis hungarici was said to be officially published on 31 December, 1929 (http://annales.nhmus.hu/ cikkreszletes.php?idhoz=468).
General distribution: almost cosmopolitan.
