Uromyces appendiculatus (Pers.) Unger

on Vigna unguiculata(L.) Walp. Panama, Chiriqui Province, Dominical, 8°39.825'N, 82°47.77'W, 25 Nov. 2004, leg J.R. Hernandez 2004-115, II (BPI 864138).

U. appendiculatus is cosmopolitan, reported on a number of species in the Fabaceae (Farr et al. 2004). It has been reported from Panama on Macroptilium atropurpureum (Sesse and Moc. ex DC.) Urb. (Lenne 1990, the firstspecific mention of Panama, although her references only refer to Central America). This is the first report of U. appendiculatus on V. unguiculata from Panama.
