Type species: Amblyseius munsteriensis Van der Merwe, 1965 .

Diagnosis. Dorsal setae short/minute, subequal; seta Z4 shorter than distance between its base and that of Z5 or S4; setae s4: Z1<3.0: 1.0; dorsal shield smooth except for anterolateral striations, or with dorsocentral ornamentation; without a marked indentation laterally ( Chant & McMurtry, 2005a).
