NOVA SCOTIA: Halifax Co.: Halifax , 2.xi.1988, B. Wright, in apartment, (15), NSMC .
An adventive species; possibly established in the region. Newly recorded in Nova Scotia and in the Maritime Provinces as a whole ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 ). Cosmopolitan; possibly established in five states in the USA ( Spillman 1982). In Canada reported from Ontario to British Columbia where it has been found in warehouses and places where bamboo products are stored ( Bousquet 1990). Naturally breeds in dead bamboo in the tropics but also found in dried stored food in North America ( Spillman 1982).
