Cropia

Both the type species Cropia hadenoides Walker, [1858] and C. connecta (Smith, 1984) grouped outside of any described subfamily, in agreement with the findings of Keegan et al. (2019). The internal and external adult morphology of species in the genus are conspicuously unusual for Noctuidae —here we propose a new subfamily for Cropia Walker, 1858 .
