Lacertacarus turcicus Kalúz sp. nov.
Description. Larva (holotype) ( Figs. 6–10 View FIGURE 6 View FIGURE 7 View FIGURE 8 View FIGURE 9 View FIGURE 10 )
SIF = 7BS–N–3–2–1–1–1–0–0–0–0; fsp=7–7–7; fPp = B–B–NNB; fCx = 1–1–1; fSt = 2–2; fDS = 4H– 12–8– 9–9–7 – 4–4–2 = 59; VS = 24; NDV = 83; Ip = 732 μm.
Dorsum. Scutum much wider than long, posterior margin rounded, bearing AL, AM, PL and two sensilla. Puncta covering part of scutum. Sensilla filiform, 49 long, ciliae on apical half of sensilla; Oval eyes (2 + 2) in ocular plates, anterior eyes laterally above PL.
Scutum: AW—72; PW—88; SB—38; ASB—21; PSB—20; SD—41; AP—18; AL—32; PL—36; PW>AW>SD; SB>ASB>PSB.
Dorsum with two pairs (4H) of humeral setae 35–43 long, dorsal setae 31–39 long, thickly barbed, mostly arranged in regular rows.
Venter. Two pairs of sternal setae. Each coxa bearing 1 seta, ventral side with 24 thinly barbed setae, irregularly arranged. Length of ventral setae vary, proximal setae are shorter (23), caudal longer (28 long).
Gnathosoma. Galeala nude. Palps 62 long, 3-pronged palptibial claw slender, 18 long, with deeply indented prongs. A pair of barbed gnathobasal setae present, both palpal femur and genu with barbed dorsal seta. Palpal tibia bears 2 nude dorsal setae and a ventro-lateral barbed seta. Palpal tarsus with 7 ciliated setae, nude subterminala and a solenidion. Cheliceral blade with tricuspid cap.
Legs. With pretarsus, claws and normal empodia. All setae on legs barbed, slender, relatively short. Specialized setae on leg segments: Leg I—S1, f1, (PT´, ST, pST) = N, 2 tibialae, microtibiala, 2 genualae, microgenuala; Leg II—S2, f2, PT´´= N, 2 tibialae, genuala; Leg III—tibiala, genuala. Number of barbed setae on leg segments (leg formula):
Leg I: Cx (1) – Tr (1) – Bf (1) – Tf (5) – G (4) – Ti (8) – Ta (22) Leg II: Cx (1) – Tr (1) – Bf (2) – Tf (4) – G (3) – Ti (6) – Ta (16)
Length of legs in holotype: Leg I—260; Leg II—223; Leg III—256; Ip—739 μm.
Differential diagnosis. Lacertacarus turcicus sp. nov. differs from other known Lacertacarus species by the absence of mastitarsala III, by two pairs of humerals (4H) and by other dorsal formula.
Etymology. The specific name ( turcicus ) reflects the name of the country where the new species was found. Material examined. Holotype: Turkey –Southeast, Antakya, Harbyie, env., N36˚07ʹ, E36˚10ʹ, 480 m altitude, mountain pasture, 1 larva from pitfall trap, 3 May 1995. Collected by the author. Holotype will be deposited in Slovak National Museum, Bratislava, Slovakia.
