Leptopilos manolisi (Chatzaki, 2002) View in CoL n. comb.
Figs 23–26 View FIGURES 23, 24 View FIGURES 25, 26
Leptodrassus manolisi Chatzaki, 2002a: 592 , figs 70, 71, ♂ from Crete.
Hitherto unknown mate: Adult female from Sedot Mikha View in CoL , Israel, leg. Yael Mandelik, May 14, 2002, pitfall trap (HUJ15569).
Description. Yellow coloured rather delicate spiders. Chelicerae with 3–5 small denticles.
Male. Measurements (5 ɗɗ): total length 1.5–2.2; carapace length 0.7–1.1, width 0.6–0.7, index 1.50–1.66; labial index 0.54–0.62; clypeal index 1.0; MOQ index 5.0; legs length: I 2.6–3.0, II 2.0–2.5, III 1.8–2.0, IV 2.9–3.4; patella-tibia index 0.9–1.1.
Palpus. Small with tips of fine sclerites barely distinguishable apart from a blackish, S-shaped lamina ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 23, 24 ); nearly triangular tibial apophysis with one uneven side ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 23, 24 ).
Female. Measurements (2ΨΨ): total length 1.9–2.2; carapace length 0.9–1.0, width 0.7–0.9, index 1.11–1.29; labial index 0.44–0.53; clypeal index 1.0; MOQ index 5.0–6.0; legs length: I 2.4–2.6, II 2.1–2.5, III 1.7–2.0, IV 3.2; patella-tibia index 0.88–0.90.
Epigynum . Cap-like hood lies anteriorly; spermathecal structures discern along sides of narrow median cavity ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 25, 26 ); dorsal inner view of spermathecae as in Fig. 26 View FIGURES 25, 26 .
Diagnosis. Leptopilos manolisi , in general, slightly resembles L. levantinus but the two are clearly separated by the shape of the male palpal sclerites and the form of the tibial apophysis, and by the shape of the epigynal plate and spermathecae of the female.
Distribution. Crete, Israel - new record. Records. Israel: Sedot Mikha , Adullam .
Comment. Males and females were collected together by pitfall traps, revealing thus the unknown female.
