Other material examined. PERU: Department de Arequipa: Chiguata (16°24'S, 71°24'W), 13, February 1948, Weyrauch ( MHNSM).
Diagnosis. The male of Allocosa yurae resembles A. brasiliensis (Petrunkevitch) in the shape of the terminal apophysis (see Capocasale 2001, fig. 9) but can be distinguished by the narrower, longer and strongly curved distal branch of median apophysis in the male palp ( Figs 24–25 View FIGURES 22 – 25 ).
Description. Male (Arequipa, Chiguata, MHNSM). Carapace brownish with a median longitudinal, a submarginal and three pairs of radial paler bands composed of four large elongated yellowish patches ( Figs 22–23 View FIGURES 22 – 25 ). Chelicerae reddish-brown. Sternum, labium, endites and coxae brownish. Legs dorsally yellowish with dark rings on femora, tibiae and metatarsi; ventrally yellowish. Abdomen: dorsum yellowish with several spots and brownish lines, heart mark yellowish and outlined by irregular brownish line; venter yellowish. Spinnerets yellowish, the anterior spinnerets cylindrical and elongated. Chelicerae: promargin with three teeth, equidistant, the median one bigger than the laterals; retromargin with three teeth, the distal one the largest. Total length 7.30. Carapace: length 3.90, width 3.75. Eyes: anterior row slightly procurved; diameters: AME 0.18; ALE 0.14; PME 0.33; PLE 0.27; interdistances: AME–AME 0.08; AME–ALE 0.02; PME–PME 0.24; PME–PLE 0.35; PLE–PLE 0.65 Leg measurements: femur 2.80/ patella 1.40/ tibia 2.15/ metatarsus 2.10/ tarsus 1.30/ total 9.75; II: 2.55/ 1.30/ 1.90/ 1.95/ / 1.15 /8.85; III: 2.60/ 1.30/ 1.75/ 2.40/ 1.25/ 9.30; IV: 3.05/ 1.32/ 2.40/ 2.40/ 1.40/ 10.57. Palp: tibia cylindrical, twice longer than wide; cymbium with two long and stout apical spines ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 22 – 25 ). Palea small, with a retrolaterally pointed terminal apophysis ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 22 – 25 ). Terminal apophysis with two branches, the basal one larger and curved ventrally. Female. Unknown.
Distribution. Peru.
Remarks. Although the holotype is an immature female, the coloration pattern is the same found in the male from Chiguata, which is only 34 km away from the type locality, Yura. Thus, this male is here considered conspecific with the immature holotype. The transfer of this species to Allocosa is justified by the following synapomorphic diagnostic characters (see Dondale & Redner 1983: 935, figs 1–3): median apophysis with two unequal processes, the distal one usually larger and angled or curved ventral, and the basal one shorter, straighter, and holding the embolus in a channel on its dorsal surface (serving as a functional conductor), and the beaklike terminal apophysis (see Figs 24–25 View FIGURES 22 – 25 ).
