Lectotype (designated here):— MALAYSIA, Peninsular Malaysia, Malacca, no date, Maingay 161 [barcode K000380471] (K!).
Garcinia baillonii Pierre (1883b View in CoL : xviii, pl. 83A). Lectotype (designated here):— MALAYSIA, Sarawak, Kuching, Matang, 1865, Beccari 2498 (P! [P04700531]; isolectotypes: K!, P! [P04700530]).
Distribution and Habitat:—Hill forest to lower montane forest at c. 900 m in Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo.
Taxonomic Notes:—Closely related to Garcinia costata but the leaf is smaller and the fruit wall smooth rather than lobed and with stripes of green and yellow.
