D i s t r i b u t i o n. From southern Fennoscandia southwards to Iberian Peninsula; from Ireland eastwards through Central and Southern Europe ( Italy, former Yugoslavia) into Bulgaria, Turkey and Russia as far as western Siberia. Also in N Africa ( Morocco); Iran (first record).
D i a g n o s t i c c h a r a c t e r s. Eye haired; antenna black ( fig. 4 View Fig , e), arista longer than two times as long as third antennal segment and with hairs longer than diameter of basal thickened part; face with distinct hairs on sides of facial knob; legs black ( fig. 4 View Fig , d); scutellar bristle long, at least as long as scutellum; halter pale brown in male; genitalia as in ( fig. 4 View Fig , f).
