Ampullaria fragilis Lamarck, 1822a: 179 . Type material — lectotype ( Smythe 1975: 337, pl. 9, figs. 1–3) and paralectotype ( Smythe 1975: 337, pl. 9, fig. 4): MHNG-INVE-51298 (formerly 1094/1A and 1094/1B, respectively). Type locality —[no locality given].

Remarks. Amphibolidae ; placed in Ampullacera by Quoy & Gaimard (1832: 201) and Deshayes & Milne Edwards (1838: 539), in Amphibola by Philippi (1852a: 73) and Martens (1857: 205) and in his new genus Salinator by Hedley (1900: 510–511), followed by Thiele (1931: 470), Woolacott (1945: 36), Smythe (1975: 335) and Golding et al. (2007: 10).
