Diagnosis. Generally recognized by small, oval, chestnut brown body tinged with red; dark brown antenna, pale at basal 2/3 of segment II; uniformly distributed dark convex spots on hemelytra ( Fig. 1); and distinctly coiled endosoma bifurcated apically ( Fig. 2A). For detail descriptions see Yasunaga (1999).
Female: Not sexually dimorphic, color and texture similar to male. GENITALIA ( Fig. 2E): Bursa copulatrix with a pair of asymmetrical, concave sclerotized plates; and sclerotized rings.
Measurements. (♂ / ♀). (5/ 5): Body length 2.41–2.58/ 2.26–2.71; head width across eyes 0.59–0.63/ 0.58– 0.61; vertex width 0.28–0.32/ 0.30–0.33; lengths of antennal segments I–IV: 0.15–0.19, 0.76–0.83, 0.34–0.39, 0.33–0.35/ 0.17–0.19, 0.74–0.78, 0.33–0.39, 0.33–0.38; total length of labium 0.99–1.14/ 1.11–1.27; mesal pronotal length 0.43–0.46/ 0.4–0.49; basal pronotal width 0.91–0.97/ 0.91–0.97; width across hemelytron 1.17–1.24/ 1.28–1.32; and lengths of metafemur, tibia and tarsus: 0.84–0.95, 1.31–1.38, 0.32–0.35/ 0.91–0.95, 1.41–1.47, 0.32–0.39.
Specimens examined. South Korea: Gyeonggi-do: 35♂, 16♀, Anyang-si, SNU Gwanak Arboretum , 9.vii.2008, on Wisteria floribunda (Willd.) DC. (Fabaceae), R. K. Duwal and S. Jung (SNU) .
Distribution. Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu), Korea (South).
Discussion. In Japan, this species has been collected on various host plants belonging to families Eriaceae, Fagaceae , Cupressaceae , Pinaceae , and Cephalotaxaceae , and nymphs were also observed on azalea ( Yasunaga 1999). In this study, Korean Atractotomoidea was observed on blue flowering woody liana, Wisteria floribunda (Willd.) DC. (Fabaceae) in summer and confirmed one generation per year in Korea.
