( Figs. 7 View FIGURES 1–8 , 41–43 View FIGURES 41–43 )

Holotype ♂ ( GP Bldz 13539) “ RSA, Richtersveld | Numees | Helsklooft Gate, 9 - 12.X.2001 | leg. W. Mey, LF”, [S 28°17.58’ E 16°57.228’, 626 m], in coll. MfN. GoogleMaps

Diagnosis. White species with a streak light ochre. The male genitalia resemble those of C. sclerisaccula Baldizzone, 2019 , a species from South Africa with brown forewing and a large white costal streak. The differences in the genitalia are as follows: in C. richtersveldi the tegumen is less narrow in the middle, the transtilla is longer and thinner, the cucullus is longer, the valve is shorter with an almost straight lateral edge, the sacculus is much more expanded on the outside, the phallotheca is different, with two suboval and symmetrical juxta rods, the vesica is much longer and the cornuti are conspicuously smaller spines.

Description. Wingspan 15 mm. Head white. Antenna white, scape with short tuft of erect scales. Labial palpus short, completely white; second article about 0.5 times longer than third. Proboscis very short. Thorax and tegula white. Forewing white with irregular light ochre streak between costal edge and anal fold; costal cilia white, dorsal cilia light grey. Hindwing and cilia light grey. Abdomen white.

Abdominal structures ( Fig. 43 View FIGURES 41–43 ): Anterior lateral struts about twice as long as posteriors. Transverse strut thin, almost straight, well sclerotized. Tergal disks (3rd tergite) length about 2.5 times their width, covered with about 45 spines.

Male genitalia ( Figs. 41–42 View FIGURES 41–43 ): Gnathos knob globular. Tegumen slightly constricted in middle, pedunculus not expanded outwards. Transtilla thin and curved, sharp at apex. Valvula trapezoidal with lateral edge more sclerotized and ventral edge almost straight. Cucullus thin and elongated, wider at base. Sacculus with curved ventral edge well sclerotized, dorsal angle more sclerotized, with internal subtriangular fold and small pointed tooth at the apex. Phallotheca short with two symmetrical, dorsally humped juxta rods. Cornuti about 15 very small spines arranged in elongated row in long vesica.

Female genitalia: Unknown.

Bionomy. The early stages and the foodplant are unknown.

Distribution. RSA (prov. Northern Cape).

Etymology. The name derives from the place where the species was collected, the Richtersveld National Park.
