Type material. Holotype: CHINA: Zhejiang Prov.: ɗ, Lishui City, Qingyuan County, Baishanzu, 1500 m, 25.IX.2008, TANG Liang leg. Paratypes: CHINA: Zhejiang Prov.: ɗ, 2ΨΨ, same data as holotype. Description. Body length: 5.6–6.0 mm; forebody length: 3.2–3.3 mm.

Body ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 12 ) elongate, brown, with labrum, two basal antennal segments and metacoxae reddish brown; the remaining antennal segments, maxillary palpi and legs except for metacoxae yellow.

Head suborbicular, slightly longer than broad (length/width = 1.03); postocular portion 1.83 times as long as eye length; on disk intervals between punctures flat, not raised like carinae. Antennae slender, extending to basal 1/ 3 of pronotum; relative length of each segment from 1 to 11: 42.0: 13.0: 30.0: 23.0: 20.0: 20.0: 20.0: 19.5: 18.0: 15.0: 20.0; relative width of each segment from 1 to 11: 11.5: 7.0: 5.5: 5.5: 5.5: 5.5: 5.5: 5.5: 5.5: 7.0: 7.0.

Pronotum convex and oval, longer than wide (length/width = 1.14), narrower (pronotum/head = 0.92) and slightly longer (pronotum/head = 1.02) than head; prosternum with strong longitudinal median carina not reaching its anterior margin. Elytra slightly shorter than wide (length/width = 0.96), distinctly shorter (elytra/pronotum = 0.81) and slightly narrower (elytra/pronotum = 0.96) than pronotum.

Abdomen with fine and very faint microsculpture on all segments.

Male. Seventh sternite ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 23 – 27 ) not emarginate in middle of posterior margin; 8th sternite ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 23 – 27 ) widely and triangularly excised in middle of posterior margin. Aedeagus ( Figs. 25–27 View FIGURES 23 – 27 ) distinctly sclerotized; median lobe in dorsal view constricted near apical 1/3, distinctly bifurcate at apex, with pair of outward processes near apical 1/3, with sclerotized apical spine-like process ventrally, dorso-lateral apophyses robust and slightly constricted near apical 1/ 3 in dorsal view, obtuse apically, and extending beyond apex of median lobe.

Female. Seventh and 8th sternites simple.

Remarks. The present new species is similar to N. furcatus in appearance, but can be easily distinguished from the latter by the following characters: all abdominal segments with fine and faint microsculpture (in N. furcatus without microsculpture); dorso-lateral apophyses at midpoint without projection at middle ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 23 – 27 ) (in N. furcatus with coniform projection).

Distribution. China (Zhejiang Prov.).

Etymology. The species is named in honor of Ms. YAN Ying, who helped us in many ways during our field studies.
