Diagnosis. Head wider than mesosoma, completely smooth and bearing no sulci (at most antennal scrobes present as very shallow depressions), with frons distinctly convex; lower face narrowed, antennae inserted below lower eye margins; sculpture of dorsum light to alutaceous. This group is similar to the marjoriae group in having the wide head with smooth convex face and light dorsal sculpture, but differs by lacking the frontal sutures.

A–C, ParatyPe female (Kenya, reared from coffee berries, BMNH): A, head in frontal vieW, B, C, lateral vieW (B, habitus, C, head, mesosoma and base of metasoma); D, E, ParatyPe males: D, head in lateral vieW (South Africa, SANC), E, head, mesosoma and base of metasoma (Kenya, reared from coffee berries, BMNH).
