Moraes & McMurtry (1983), collecting in northeastern Brazil, also found differences on the length of these same setae, but with measurements intermediate between those shown in the original description and those found in this paper. The average measurements followed by the respective ranges (in parentheses) are: dorsal shield length 339 (325–350), width 195 (185–205), j1 29 (25–33), j3 44 (40–48), j4 10 (9– 10), j5 10 (9–10), j6 13 (13–15), J2 12 (10–13), J5 8 (8–9), z2 16 (15–18), z4 42 (40–48), z5 7 (6–8), Z1 20 (18–23), Z4 66 (63–70), Z5 81 (73–85), s4 57 (53–60), S2 29 (28–30), S4 22 (20–23), S5 11 (9–13), r3 20 (18–21), R1 15 (13–15), Sge I 21 (20–23), Sge II 22 (20–25), Sge III 30 (28–33), Sti III 19 (18–20), Sge IV 54 (53–55), Sti IV 23 (20–25), St IV 67 (65–68), St1–St3 65 (63–68), St2–St2 70 (68–75), St5–St5 80 (78–83), length of ventrianal shield 112 (103–118), width at ZV2 level 67 (63–70), width at anus level 76 (75–78), length of calyx of spermatheca 10 (9–13).
The measurements of a single male are: dorsal shield length 270, width 165, j1 20, j3 33, j4 10, j5 9, j6 13, J2 13, J5 6, z2 13, z4 30, z5 8, Z1 13, Z4 48, Z5 50, s4 40, S2 15, S4 13, S5 8, r3 13, R1 13, Sge I 15, Sge II 18, Sge III 20, Sti III 18, Sge IV 38, Sti IV 20, St IV 50, width of ventrianal shield 155 at anterior corners, length of shaft of spermadactyl 23.
